ABOUT PROVIDENCE:

____________________________________________________________

Providence’s dream is to draw people from all over Savannah to Christ through the gospel proclaimed and incarnated. It is a church that exalts Christ that people are drawn by the power of the gospel to experience life change, intimate community and spiritual maturity.

It is a dream where young soldiers who come to Savannah meet Jesus Christ and grow to serve Him, their families, and God’s kingdom as soldiers of Christ who spread the gospel wherever they are stationed or deployed.

It is a dream where college students in search of life’s answers and authentic purpose become equipped to disciple for Christ and who spread the gospel and perform their vocation with a passion to see God’s kingdom realized in the culture.

It is a dream where the nurses, doctors, and care-givers are equipped to use the gospel to promote spiritual health and deliverance as they exalt Christ in their vocations by promoting physical health with Christian compassion in their workplace and in mercy-based medical clinics for the poor and needy.

It is a dream where the senior restless in retirement and jaded with its unfulfilled promises, who is anxious and guilty about the past and fears a future of solitude and illness, finds joy in Jesus Christ and in His loving community and; finds renewed purpose to make the rest of his life count for God’s kingdom.

It is a dream where the gospel transforms neighborhoods, subdivisions and apartment buildings where diverse peoples live separate and unnoticed by each other, into communities marked by reconciliation and concern for neighbors

It is a dream where the gospel takes the men of our society who live for themselves and for their own pleasures and transforms them into heroic men of character and integrity. Men whose love for Christ motivates them to serve their families and their fellow man instead of themselves so that the image of Christian manhood will become once again synonymous with character and faith.

It is a dream where confused and troubled marriages and families find a safe community where they can experience support, encouragement, assistance, and healing as the people of God minister the gospel and as they learn to serve Jesus in all areas of life.

It is a dream where the gospel transforms homes in the rat race of suburban life marked by anxiety, conflict, and neglected relationships into places of rest, peace, community, and joy; where children are equipped to love God and neighbor, leaving the security of the home with maturity and integrity.

It is a dream where the youth in our neighborhoods and families are valued as the greatest asset to the kingdom of God as they lead their generation in being faithful followers of Christ, accomplishing great things for God’s kingdom.

It is a dream where the next generation will be redeemed and thoroughly equipped to bring social and spiritual reformation to Savannah and to the whole world.

It is a dream of a church reaching hundreds of people all over Savannah with the gospel through mercy ministry for the needy, a counseling center for the hurting, and a Bible institute for the under-equipped Christian and church leaders. It is a church whose sanctuary stands apart as a mountain of hope and whose facilities serve the community’s needs for respite and renewal.

It is the dream of seeing every people group in Savannah being reached and ministered to by the gospel by 2025.

It is a dream where a small church in South Savannah is used of God to ignite a church planting movement beginning in the Greater Savannah area and spreading outwards to all of Georgia and the whole world.

It is a dream of God the Father handing over the city of Savannah and its borders to His Son culturally, socially, and spiritually.

It is a dream that is impossible to the human eye, incredible to reason, and which is destined to fail unless God Himself accomplishes it for the glory of His Son.
